Just called police on some teens who literally broke into( a chained gate) the pool area at my apartments , after hours ,making loud disturbances . Police show up, didn't even come around to investigate how they got in, shun their light through the gate, said of few words to them and left. These kids are still in this pool area even louder. Really Dekalb, y'all have to do better.

The level of respect that they all showed me was wonderful!

Everyone needs to remember that these men and women have a very difficult job. They aren't interested in arresting people, there's no quota, their interest is in protecting the citizens of the counties that they serve.

Dekalb County is the absolute WORST officers I have ever seen, and that's saying something considering I used to live near Ferguson, MO. They take forever to get there when you call them, they are terrible at settling disputes and most of the time don't care, and you risk being the one arrested when it was you who called them!! If you want to live in a county where they have good police officers, stay FAR AWAY from Dekalb county.

These criminals beat homeless women. No excuse, release the thugs name. Stop protecting woman beaters.

I was disgusted and outraged to see Officer P.J. LARSCHEID beat Katie McCrary ... a 38 year old black homeless woman reported to have mental health issues. It was obvious from the video that she was trying to ward off blows vs. "resisting arrest" ... Obviously the DeKalb Police Dept. did not try very hard to ascertain the truth of what had happened during the incident. Larscheid should be removed from the force and face fines and assault charges ... Shame on Larscheid and the Dept. (BTW I suffered major property damage and even personal assault from the homeless in Phoenix in the 1980's and early 1990's but even then I would never have countenanced this type of reaction by the police against those perpetrators) ...

I'm giving the DCPD 5 stars because of the kindness and respect they have shown me during an extremely difficult and stressful time. Officers Gillis and Bennett could not have been kinder to me when I went to the office. Ms Hill in the Bond Department was also kind and compassionate.
